We are proud to offer Catastrophic Inmate Medical Insurance (CIMI) and the Inmate Medical Cost Management Program (IMCMP). These programs work hand-in-hand as effective cost containment solutions.
A CIMI policy can be tailored to your jail allowing for more accurate budgeting by insuring inmate medical expenses of catastrophic nature. The coverage can be purchased separately or can be used in combination with other healthcare services already in place.
The IMCMP provides access to an extensive corrections network that has the ability to save on average 35-40% on charges for all offsite inmate medical expenses, including dental services. There are no up-front costs to participate; if you are able to save money, a percentage of the savings is kept as the administrative fee. In 2016, one of our clients saved over $400,000.00.
Skyrocketing healthcare costs combined with increasing incarceration rates and governmental responsibility to pay for inmate medical care has created serious problems in the budgetary process.
Correctional systems must budget and manage enough resources to provide adequate medical care for inmates. While routine and expected medical costs for county inmates are a significant financial burden on any county's budget, these costs are generally planned for and budgeted. It is the unexpected and high costs of an isolated illness or injury that can be devastating to a county's budget.
Many counties have found that the cost of caring for even one unexpectedly and seriously injured or ill inmate can easily exceed hundreds of thousands of dollars.
